Me
I am Clara Czimmek, a performing artist for pedagogy and educator for informal learning, participating in and facillitating international Projects, Schools, Workshops and Outdoor Camps since 2006. Born in Bocholt, Germany i started doing drama and dance passionately since a very early age. As much as I love doing all kinds of performing arts myself, my passion lies in teaching, facilitating and holding a safe space for others to explore themselves and one another. Growing up with a big vegetable garden, spending a lot of time in nature and with animals, I have developed a deep care and appreciation for the natural world. I believe that if we want to solve some of the worlds problems, we need to go back to nature, to listen to it and to work the land. In July 2015 I graduated with a B.A of Arts in Performing Arts in Society, Performing arts pedagogy from the Hochschule für Künste im Sozialen, Ottersberg. Alongside my studies I joined an Outdoor Education course in 2013 at Aventerra .e.V in Stuttgart and graduated in 2016. I am currently working on a course for urban and rural survival training that brings together performing arts and outdoor education that is especially suitable for people in a time of transition. Since March 2017 I am working at Hof Pente, a CSA Farm and research center for "Handlungspädagogik" I am also working as a freelancer around Germany. My current partners of cooperation are TheaterTotal and Abenteuerschule. |
My Focus
I am driven by a deep interest in learning, exploring the world and humanity, to find out what human nature is about and how to deal with the current situations that our society has created. I continuously ask myself: “Where is the connection between creativity, art and everyday life?" Performing art to me is asking questions and finding answers that go beyond words. It is going deeply into a process of exploring the never-ending journey of questions, learning and research. There are four main areas in my approach to work with performing arts in society: 1. Creating a space free of judgment, full of aesthetic perception and exploration. 2. Exploring the potential of a participant and supporting them in their personal learning. 3. Looking at shifts in society and reflecting upon them. Finding ones own position within our environment. 4. Finding aesthetic forms to express and share these investigations with an audience. Head - Heart - Hand Being emotionally involved enables one to have a driving force towards action. Within a practical, hands-on action lies the physical experience. When the head is engaged, there is the possability of personal reflection, learning and growth. Creating a space in which everyone can experience themselves with all three aspects is what i find very important in order to learn and live fully. The tools choosen depend on who is in front of me, what qualities they bring and where their focus is. |
